From the Director of Train to Busan and Peninsula, Hellbound has been invited to the 46th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)’s PRIMETIME Program.
Director Yeon Sang-ho’s Hellbound has officially been invited to the 46th Toronto Film Festival (TIFF)’s PRIMETIME Program. The Netflix series shows the phenomena of supernatural beings appearing out of the blue to condemn people to hell. Taking advantage of the chaos, a new religious group named The New Truth thrives as people search for answers.

In 2012, Director Yeon’s first film The King of Pigs was the first South Korean animated feature film to be presented at the Cannes Film Festival. He later returned to the Cannes stage with blockbusters like Train to Busan and Peninsula. This year, the acclaimed director reached a new milestone as a global storyteller with his new Netflix series Hellbound being invited to the Toronto Film Festival - a first for a Korean series.

Director Yeon, who excels in various formats including webtoons, dramas, and films, collaborated with Songgot author Choi Gyu-seok to create Hellbound. The series will feature a top-notch cast including Yoo Ah-in, Park Jeong-min, Kim Hyun-joo, Won Jin-a, Yang Ik-june, Kim Do-yoon, Kim Sin-rock, Ryu Kyung-soo, and Lee Re. Hellbound is set to impress with its unique and fascinating story.

The 46th Toronto Film Festival is North America’s largest film festival and will introduce diverse genres and styles through new films from 9 September 2021 to 18 September 2021. The PRIMETIME section will see exceptional stories and directing as we see the line between television and film continue to blur and bring forth a new golden age of entertainment. Additionally, Director Ava DuVernay’s Netflix series Colin in Black & White will also be presented on the PRIMETIME Program, while The Special Presentations section will include Netflix films The Power of the Dog, The Guilty, and The Starling.

As anticipation builds following the invitation to the 46th Toronto Film Festival, Hellbound will be available on Netflix upon its release in over 190 countries.

K-pop group Omega X (Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Jeonghoon, Hyuk and Yechan) released the “Vamos” music video, the title track of their first mini album, on the large digital display signages around COEX starting August 9th, connecting with the K-pop fans once again.
Prior to their official debut in June, Omega X promoted the “Blossom the Hope” public campaign as supporters and helped overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign was hosted by the COEX MICE Cluster (CMC) committee consisting of 16 trade centers including the Gangnam district office and COEX.

Along with supporting the campaign, Omega X was the first rookie K-pop group to be covered on the digital display signage at Starfield COEX Mall in Gangnam-gu Seoul, South Korea, which is Korea’s largest signage and often referred to as “Korea’s Times Square.”

Omega X and their “Vamos” music video will be shown to citizens of Seoul on the mega-sized K-pop Square display that is 81 meters wide and 20 meters tall, as well as on CMC committee’s signages at COEX Media Tower, Parnas Media Tower, Hyundai Department Store’s H-Wall, Millennium Plaza Media, COEX Xpace, COEX Mall DID, Megabox, and Underworld Panorama.

Omega X’s digital signage advertising is the first case of K-pop group’s contents being exposed through all channels since the COEX and the Trade Center area have been selected as the first unlimited outdoor display advertising zone.

K-pop group Omega X successfully completed their activities with their first mini-album “Vamos,” and the members are communicating with fans through digital content. Omega X plans to support CMC through their second collaboration and stage a comeback in the second half of the year.

The official ensemble poster and main trailer for upcoming Netflix series D.P. have been released. D.P. centers on Deserter Pursuit Unit members An Jun-ho (Jung Hae-in) and Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan) as they come across different stories while tracking down fellow soldiers who have deserted their posts.

We see the D.P. team members outside of their military base and blending in with society in the poster. Although they look like civilians, as they are allowed to wear regular clothing and grow their hair while traveling throughout the country, they are in fact soldiers who go after military deserters. Operating much like detectives, they work in pairs as they trace the whereabouts of the deserters. Investigating, snooping around for information, and going on stake-outs are all in a day’s work. Private An Jun-ho is a new addition to the team and is still rigid due to military discipline. He works with Corporal Han Ho-yeol who has more experience and is pretty nonchalant as a result. Having completely different personalities whilst standing in between the boundary of the military and civilian society, you can look forward to their team chemistry as they face the individual stories of the deserters.
A closer look at Jun-ho and Ho-yeol in action while pursuing the deserters is showcased in the trailer. As the team leader, Ho-yeol shares his insight about having to first put yourself in the deserters’ shoes to better understand them and track them down. However, Jun-ho realises that the investigation ends up feeling more like jumping into the deep end as unpredictable and dangerous situations pop up. The pair questions acquaintances for clues as they figure out where the deserters might be headed and race after them. In the process, Jun-ho experiences mixed feelings when he learns about the various reasons why they deserted their duties. Will bringing back the deserters be as easy as their commander claims?

The diverse stories of the deserters that Jun-ho and Ho-yeol come across and the weight of their missions will pierce our hearts and minds when D.P. premieres exclusively on Netflix on 27 August.
