Last weekend, the iconic co-ed group KARD returned to Malaysia to make waves at the ASICS GEL-BND™ regional launch event in Sunway Pyramid, in their role as ASICS’ regional ambassador. KARD delivered an electrifying performance on the indoor stage for their fans in Malaysia as well as those who joined them from around the region.

As a celebration for the comeback of the GEL-BND™ shoes and KARD as the face of ASICS, the event saw the massive turnout of more than 300 guests, taking over the shopping complex.

The night kicked off with an opening act from local rapper Kidd Santhe, followed by a dance performance by the NastyRock Crew and finished off by the popular quartet themselves, who brought the roof down when they took the stage to perform four of their best hits – Oh Na Na, Don’t Recall, Bomb Bomb and their latest fiery tropical-dance sound Dumb Litty – bringing the event and the crowd’s energy to the peak.

Samsung Electronics has released its latest movie project, “The Present”, a short film inspired by Samsung’s corporate citizenship vision of Enabling People that brings together themes of determination, entrepreneurship and collaboration.

“The Present” follows Sang-gu (starring Shin Ha-kyun), a man brought to present-day Seoul via time-travel from 1969. Sang-gu meets young entrepreneurs Ha-neul (starring EXO’s Suho), Bo-ra (starring Kim Seul-ki) and Young-bok (starring Yoo Su-bin) and ends up helping them as they work to create a thermal imaging camera to use in fire and rescue operations.

“I wanted the film to be entertaining,” noted Director Hur Jin-ho, chiefly known for his work in the melodrama genre, “but I also wanted to accurately capture all the joys and sorrows faced by today’s young people as they go about launching their own business endeavors.”

The film features Samsung’s venture acceleration program C-Lab Outside, which supports young Korean startups by facilitating optimal environments for them to grow and create new value. Samsung’s IGNIS Thermal Imaging Camera, developed by Samsung’s in-house corporate incubation program C-Lab to help firefighters in prevention and rescue activities, also takes a starring role in the short film.

“The Present” is the latest in a series of films made by Samsung to entertain, motivate and inspire young people today. The first, “Two Lights”, was released in 2017, followed by “My Dream Class” in 2018 and “Memories” earlier in 2019.

Happening this weekend (9 & 10 November) at Singapore Indoor Stadium, KAMP Singapore 2019 is set to bring a stellar line-up of K-pop artists including Super Junior, NCT 127, GFRIEND, Chung Ha and more to Singapore. The festival takes place at 2 main areas - the KAMP Stage where performances will be held and KAMP Grounds, a red carpet event where fans can meet their favourite artists up close, hi-touch, take selfies and get autographs.

The Train To Busan Horror House experience at Resorts World Genting is about to open its doors to fans of the movie and fans of scare experiences in Malaysia and the region. The first-of-its-kind in the world, the Horror House is officially launched on 31 October 2019, bringing the world of the blockbuster Korean movie to life in a unique and thrilling way. This event is brought to you by Resorts World Genting and AirAsia as co-presenter.

Based on the blockbuster 2016 South Korean zombie apocalypse movie Train To Busan, Resorts World Genting unleashes a railway line of horror for two months that will offer a unique blend of horrific thrills and scary fun to fans of the movie and fans of horror in general.

Following the plot of the movie – where the father and daughter meet in Seoul for a trip to Busan – the first part of the Horror House is themed around Seoul Station. Guests will find themselves trapped in an apocalyptic version of the gigantic train station, fending off zombies and traps as they battle through environments such as the Long Corridor, the Toilet, the Supermarket, the Café and the Mirror Maze to reach their goal: the train that will take them away from this hellish nightmare.

Two additional experiences flesh out the world and mythos of Train To Busan. At the two Base Camps, guests who have survived the ordeal of the train can take up arms against the horde of zombies in various Virtual Reality and other interactive activities. These include strapping on body armour and wielding guns to defend the quarantine areas from invading zombies – just like the finale of the movie – or fighting against time to develop a cure from the ravaging virus. If all this adrenaline-packed action sounds tiring and sapping, then there is a payoff for everyone: a Seoul Retail Street that brings the best of Korean cuisine and K-pop culture as a reward for all those that have survived the horror of the Train To Busan.

The Horror House will be heightened with a cast of 50 actors and scare point operators, who were meticulously selected for necessary physical attributes and acting skills. Working in shifts, the acting cast – who are all Malaysian – will play the role of zombies and survivors in shifts, bringing the storyline crafted by Vividthree to life. The attention to detail going into the cast and costuming is immense; lead by an award-winning Malaysian artiste, the makeup for individual actor takes up to 2 hours to complete, while the costumes have been styled specifically to be recognisable to fans of the movie.

The highly anticipated entertainment event of the year StarHub Night of Stars is returning for its second edition on Sunday, 24 November 2019 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. StarHub Night of Stars will see 'Her Private Life' main lead, Park Min Young and Kim Jae Uck, Korean actor Sung Hoon, Hong Kong actor Kenneth Ma, Taiwanese singer, Yoga Lin and many more, come together to celebrate the best of Asian entertainment on StarHub TV.
