Starring Jo Jung Suk and Girls' Generation's YoonA, the action comedy movie EXIT is set to bring tears and laughter in nationwide cinema on 5 September. EXIT featuring story of an unemployed man, Yong Nam (starring Jo Jung Suk) and an assistant manager of a conventio, Eui-ju (starring YoonA). Yong-nam was one of the best rock climbers in university but has failed to get a decent job after graduated several years ago. When a disaster strikes, covering an entire district in Seoul with mysterious white gas, he has to use all of his rock climbing skills with the help of Eui-ju to get everyone to safety..

Few months before the filming began, Jo Jung Suk and YoonA took rock climbing lessons and have learned all the proper skills to climb. Jo Jung Suk said, “After training at indoor rock climbing centers, I went to the sound stage and the buildings were 10-15m tall. If this was a real disaster, the actual buildings would’ve been 10 times higher, so that puts things into scale."

YoonA, however said “Before the filming began, I kept my body in shape because I was required to run, climb and wire stunts, and I wanted to keep up.”

The filmmakers and cast of EXIT are collectively calling EXIT “a new breed of disaster film that has never been seen before.” Toxic gas as a source of the disaster is an ingenious story device, and the funny-yet-sad situations the characters are put into are the reasons to see the film.

About Yong Nam (starring Jo Jung Suk)

Yong-nam has his heydays back in university when he was the ace in the rock climbing club. But after failing to get a decent job after graduated from university, his morale and self esteem are way down. He dreaded to get a job before his mother's 70th birthday but was failed to do so. During the birthday celebration, he met his crush Eui-ju who's the assistant manager of the convention hall. Their lives tangled when toxic gas suddenly spread all over the city.

About Eui-ju (starring YoonA)

Eui-ju is the assistant manager of a convention hall, who has grown tired of repetitious work life and is sick of all the advances from her cowardice boss. She’s so glad to run into Yong-nam, whom she friendzoned in college. When the toxic gas begins spreading across Seoul, she has to maintain order and peace in the hall for everyone’s safety.

What if a seemingly useless skill turns into something you use to get out of a life- threatening situation, and what if an underappreciated ability is able to save the ones you love?

When toxic gas suddenly engulfs the city, two young people fight their way out of this disaster with nothing but their wit and everyday tools at their disposal! An unbelievable night in which they have to keep running to survive.

tvN’s latest talk-of-the-town drama Hotel Del Luna has dominated viewership rating charts in Singapore and Malaysia, garnering Top 3 positions for audience aged 4 or above since premiere, showing its appeal to audience in all age groups. In view of the popularity and buzz the drama generates, tvN Asia, in partnership with StarHub, will soon bring in the male lead of Hotel Del Luna, Yeo Jin-goo, to Singapore to promote this viral series.

The latest episode (Episode 4) aired on 21 August in Singapore received a 0.997% of rating among target audience (A20-49) and 0.909% of rating among audience aged 4 or above, ranking No. 1 among all 120 StarHub and Singtel Pay TV channels; the rating among audience aged 4 or above also broke tvN Asia’s very own record in 2018 and 2019 (Source: SG-TAM – strictly no reproduction, all rights reserved by IMDA).

In Malaysia, the series is ranked No. 2 among all 142 Astro Pay TV channels for its episodes 2, 3 and 4 among audience aged 4 or above; the series’ highest rating moment took place in episode 2, with a rating of 2.014%, data supplied by KM Singapore. As the storyline intensifies, it is expected the rating of upcoming episodes will continue to spike.

Apart from its outstanding viewership performance, Hotel Del Luna starring singer IU and actor Yeo Jin-goo, also caught much attention and interest on the digital space, it has been crowned No 1. on the list of most buzzworthy dramas for the seventh consecutive week since its premiere. According to the ranking by Good Data Corporation released on 27 August, Hotel Del Luna received a buzzworthy score of 33.87%, which is more than double of No. 2. Both IU and Yeo Jin-goo are also no stranger on the buzzworthy chart, they secured Top 3 positions since the hotel has begun its operation.

Hotel Del Luna is a fantasy romance drama about a mysterious hotel that is open to ghosts only. The owner Man-wol (IU), a cranky but beautiful lady who’s lived for more than 1,000 years, meets a clever but weak-minded elite hotelier, Chan-seong (Yeo Jin-goo), whose destiny is to now face ghosts and run the hotel together.

After losing his father in a sudden accident as a young boy, Yong-hu harbors a deep mistrust and anger towards the world. "This character has a charisma that runs counter to all the other roles I've played," says Park Seo Joon of the strong exterior and hurt-filled inner heart which brings out a deeper, more mature acting than in his previous, lighter roles. To shoot the film and effectively portray this character who fights evil, Park Seo Joon himself performed the martial arts, wire action and CG action, not sparing himself in an effort to realize a satisfying summer blockbuster.

The national actor, Ahn Sung-ki, however says ""I thought it was a project that could give me a new kind of energy." Not only did he perfectly express the gentle charisma and weighty presence of his character, but he also took up the challenge of Latin dialogue and action scenes. Known for the chemistry he creates with his co-actors, in The Divine Fury he crosses generations to portray a close and unforgettable partnership with Park Seo-jun.

Not to miss out actor Woo Do Hwan who brings a keen tension to The Divine Fury. "I wanted to create a completely new kind of antagonist," says Woo Do Hwan. Wrapped in mystery, the character of Jisin takes advantage of people's weaknesses to spread evil.

Synopsis of The Divine Fury

Through him, he discovers the strange power behind the mark on his palm, and also learns of the existence of hidden forces of evil among us. Medical drama 'Doctor Room' features Ji Sung and Lee Se Young

The Saturday-Sunday ONE HD (Astro Ch.393)'s drama "Doctor Room" premiered in July, tells story of doctors who seek to uncover the causes of mysterious pain suffered by chronically ill patients. Ji Sung portrays as Cha Yo Han, the genius anesthesiology who has the ability to diagnose his patients in 10 seconds. Lee Se Young, however portrays as Kang Si Young, the talented and warm-hearted anesthesiology whose family has been doctors for generations. Check out what Ji Sung and Lee Se Young said during the interview:

Q: Why did you choose this drama?

Ji Sung starring as the prodigy Cha Yo Han who has the nickname of "10 Seconds"

Ji Sung: There're many reasons why I chose it. First of all, I go way back with Director Jo Su Won. I know I can trust him when I work with him. Another thing is that I was able to connect with Mr Kim Ji Hoon's script. The theme of this drama sends a clear message to today's society. And personally, my father had suffered from a heart condition for a long time and ended up having a heart transplant. As I took care of him, I suffered emotionally and thought about the meaning of life in a very serious manner. Because of that experience, I think it's a drama I could work on with all of my heart. That's why I decided to do this project.

Q: Feelings after reading the script?

Lee Se Young: When I think about Si Young and Professor Cha Yo Han, my heart ached and my chest felt heavy. I was wondering how I could convey those feelings in the story to the viewers, I had a lot of fun reading the script. and especially liked the ending.

Q: How did you prepare to play this role?

Jisung: This is my second medical drama, and while filming the first one (New Heart), there were parts I remember I could've done more naturally when expressing my feelings. I thought about those times, read books, thought about what we need to be happy and what a doctor could do for others. So those are some things I did. That's all.

Lee Se Young: I've seen real doctors at work, seeing patients. And all the actors were given a medical training. I worked hard, but when I tried to do it for real, it wasn't easy. I was nervous. Anyway, I'm doing my best.

Q: Any challenges while filming?

Lee Se Young: The weather is getting hotter these days. There are many medical terms in my lines. Those lines keep disappearing from my brain due to the heat. So I keep making mistakes. That's what's been happening lately.

Q: What's special about this drama?

Ji Sung: There's no one who doesn't cherish every moment of their lives. If something bad happens to such people, they'll feel devastated. Their families and friends will be sad. This is a medical drama and melodrama at the same time that portrays heartbroken people and incidents that can happen to us.

Lee Se Young: The thing to look for in our drama is although it's a story set in a hospital, there is a story about people in it. It's a heart-warming, touching, and entertaining story. It has everything, and I hope you will enjoy it.

Q: How are Si Young and Se Young similar?

Lee Se Young: A similarity I share with Si Young is...I feel awkward saying this, but they are both "righteous". They don't compromise. Some may say we are stubborn.

Q: How was it at the shooting?

Lee Se Young: Everyone's so nice and humorous, but I found out that Director Jo Su Won is so lovely. I wanted to point that out. Everyone is so proud of him.

Q: Few words to the viewers.

Ji Sung: All the cast and staff members are working so hard to reach out to the people with a heartfelt story. I wish it'll be on air soon. It's been a while since we started filming, so I'm curious how it'll come out.
