(G)I-DLE, the leading K-pop artists who reached heights with their 1st Full Album „I NEVER DIE‟ released in March 2022, topping the iTunes charts in 24 countries and placing 58th on „Billboard Global 200‟, is coming back in 7 months, after successfully completing their „2022 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [JUST ME ( )I-DLE]„ in 18 cities in 10 countries.
[I love] embodies the audacious aspiration that „I‟ deserve to stay true to „myself‟ instead of being what others want me to be and that I hope to throw away the show which I don‟t want, and instead present the genuine, true self.
Each of the 6 tracks on the album unravels a different story of love through music. Various genres from pop, rock, indie pop, and more are expressed in (G)I-DLE‟s very own style. JEON SOYEON once again took the initiative in leading the general album production process as the executive producer, and the band members contributed to the songwriting of all tracks, affirming their reputation as „multitalented artists‟.
The title track „Nxde‟ is a song in the alternative pop genre that adopted the melody of „Habanera‟ the aria of „Carmen‟ the opera in order to illustrate everyone‟s persona as „show‟. It metaphorically expresses the authentic, true self of one as nude, and the lyrics with sarcasm at the provocative views on the word stand out. With the grand bass line consisting of shuffle rhythm and straightforward lyrics capturing the audience‟s attention, it‟s just like a musical you can‟t take your eyes off of.
Previously, (G)I-DLE raised expectations for this album by consecutively revealing images of three concepts: the „Act‟ concept portraying the double-sidedness of love; the „Born‟ concept with visuals inspired by the widely loved Hollywood figure Marilyn Monroe; and the „X-File‟ concept that shows what lies underneath artists who are loved by everybody. Further, the music video of „Nxde‟ which is a story of movie stars on their journey to finding their true selves uses animation to deliver a message without being overserious, presenting unique aesthetics to fans.

- Various playlists are revealed, including 1MILLION’s brand playlist ‘1MILLION!’ and individual playlists curated by five of its choreographers
Established in 2014, 1MILLION has been leading the global dance culture by operating offline dance studios and its own social channels including YouTube and Instagram. 1MILLION has launched its official Spotify account to connect with fans in a deeper way. Also, in celebration of the launch of its Spotify account, the famed studio has created its brand playlist and various themed playlists with songs that are hand-picked by some of its most popular dancers.
First, 1MILLION’s brand playlist 1MILLION! presents fan-favorite tracks that are featured in the top dance videos uploaded on its YouTube channel which currently has over 25M followers, and songs that have inspired its choreographies. Through the playlist, Spotify listeners can check out 1MILLION’s music selections at a glance and discover some of the trendiest tracks in the dance scene.

3. WOONHA - Low Wave
Known for her dark and gothic style of choreography, WOONHA began dancing at age 19 when she joined her high school dance club. CRAVITY’s overarching storyline has always focused on their journey into the new world, and they are back with a new theme of “youth”. Rappers Serim and Allen contributed to writing lyrics on multiple tracks, and the mini album also includes lead vocalist Woobin's first self-produced song.
The lead track “PARTY ROCK” blends four genres of Pop, Rock, Funk, and EDM, creating a fresh sound of the nine members expressing their bright energy. The youth of CRAVITY is encapsulated in this signature track to emit endless energy both sonically and visually. Super Junior returns to Singapore with their 9th concert tour, SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9 : ROAD on 3 September 2022. This marks the group’s 6th Super Show on our sunny shores!
E.L.F (known as Ever Lasting Friends, their fandom name) kickstarted their September at Singapore Indoor Stadium with their 8 beloved members – Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun. Despite the late announcement, the venue was still filled with a sea of beautiful sapphire blue lightsticks, also the fandom’s official colour.

Before the show commenced, fan support such as banners and even bubble tea (to battle the afternoon heat) were distributed by fans outside the venue. We must say fan service is not just given by idols themselves!
The group finally appeared and started
their Super Show with songs like ‘Burn The Floor’, ‘The Crown’, ‘Super’ and ‘Mr
Simple’. The atmosphere then turned slightly darker and more magical, with the
members performing ‘Ticky Tocky’, ‘Paradox’ and ‘Mystery’ in glittery black

It was then time for their long-awaited first greeting! Starting off with Shindong saying “Sing-sing-Singapore” and ending with Leeteuk’s “Singapore-pore-pore”, the members incorporated their knowledge of the country with languages like English, Mandarin and even Singlish:

Members like Kyuhyun and Siwon also spoke some Mandarin, visibly remnants of their Super Junior-M (standing for Mandarin, one of their sub-units) days. After greeting their fans, K.R.Y, one of their sub-units, took things slower with ‘I Can’t’, blowing everyone’s minds with their solid live vocals.

Much to ELF’ sadness, it was time for the group’s closing speeches.
Shindong: “Just like good friends, it’s not about meeting often, but how it still feels the same after so long. That’s how I feel with Singapore ELF.”
Ryeowook: “After we arrived in Singapore, we didn’t sleep well because we were so nervous. At backstage, I see members looking exhausted, but still trying their best to put up a good show. I don’t know how long we can keep our energy going, but we’ll try our best so we can see our Singapore fans for a long time.”
Yesung: “So many thoughts crossed my mind during the last stage. Even though we couldn’t meet for the past few years, I can still feel your love from afar.”
Siwon: “Actually I invited 30 of my friends here today! So we’ve all been looking forward to this moment. Did you guys enjoy tonight?”
Eunhyuk: “Honestly, I went through a difficult 1 month. I had a lot of worries and concerns before I finally got to meet you. There was a space in my heart that was left empty, but seeing all of you today, I think that empty space has been filled up.” The main dancer also received audible cheers and encouragement from the fans, and Siwon was also seen comforting him for the rest of their time on stage.

On 3 August, (G)I-DLE released their new summer single, ‘DUMDi DUMDi’.
As of 7 August, ‘DUMDi DUMDi' has surpassed 1 million streams on the korean digital streaming platform, GENIE. Of course, (G)I-DLE’s success extends beyond their domestic popularity! Internationally, ‘DUMDi DUMDi’ has soared to the top in the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 41 regions, namely, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and more. As of today, the official music video has already reached over 40 million views. With barely 3 years since their debut, (G)I-DLE has showed tremendous potential to excel in the future as one of the biggest girl groups in the K-pop industry.
The pleasant girls of (G)I-DLE took time off their busy schedules to answer questions from the GOKPOP team.
When asked to describe the new summer single ‘DUMDi DUMDi’ which differs from the usual powerful and strong image of the girls, Miyeon responded, “‘DUMDi DUMDi’ is a refreshing song that will blow this heat away. The lyrics address our youth and passion, which are just like summer.” It has only been less than a week since the release of ‘DUMDi DUMDi’ and we are already addicted to the melodious tune and catchy lyrics!
Intrigued by Soyeon’s never-ending concept-generating for (G)I-DLE, we had to know her muse this time when producing for the new release! Of course, the leader of (G)I-DLE charmingly answered, “the 23-year-old me.” She also mentioned her goal to ingrain the words ‘DUMDi DUMDi’. Indeed, Soyeon is one genius producer!
Shuhua also commented that through the preparations for the comeback, the girls had dance practices every day. Even though the choreography changed little by little and she recalled struggling for a few days, it was a memorable episode of the comeback preparation for the youngest member of (G)I-DLE. You truly worked hard, Shuhua!
(G)-IDLE has also successfully completed their 1st online concert recently! With this being their first concert since debut, we were curious about how the girls felt meeting NEVERLANDs (affectionate name for the fans of (G)I-DLE) virtually. Soojin stated, “We were upset that we couldn’t actually meet, but the chat let us communicate with our fans in real time, so it was fun.” I am 502% sure NEVERLANDs feel the same way!
When questioned what the members of (G)I-DLE are most looking forward to apart from making their comeback, Yuqi expressed that they are always looking forward to the chance to meet NEVERLAND up close. NEVERLANDs are also anticipating the day we can meet the girls again!
Regarding the plans and goals for this comeback, Minnie conveyed that (G)I-DLE’s goal is for everyone to enjoy this summer by listening to ‘DUMDi DUMDi’ and cheer up during these struggling times. “Although we can’t meet NEVERLAND in real life, we hope this song will make everyone feel better.” As expected from the sweet and kind-hearted girls of (G)-IDLE!

Twitter is the best place for Kpop fans to see what’s happening and participate in trending conversations. Apart from getting the latest news about their favourite idols and learning more about them, Twitter is also the place where fans can introduce themselves to others in the fandom who best relate to their love for idols!
Twitter’s been the starting point for one of the newest popular Kpop fan challenges, the #MeetTheKpopArtist challenge.
Kpop fan artists of groups such as BTS (MeetTheBTSFanArtist), DAY6 (#MeetDay6FanArtist), SEVENTEEN (#MeetTheSVTArtist) and Stray Kids (#MeetTheSTAYtist), are drawing themselves in relation to the group they stan, sharing some background within the artwork and using this opportunity to connect with others within the fandom.

Rookie boy group CIX made their first comeback with 2nd mini album titled "HELLO Chapter 2. Hello, Strange Place". This mini album is a follow up to HELLO Chapter 1: Hello Strange" released back in July.

Before releasing the mini album, CIX released a five episodes 'Hello, Strange Place' short film - "Butterfly Effect", "Bystander", "Self Slaughter", "Abrupt Absense" and "Broken Family". Each episode featured the members as the main cast, including dark contents of bullying, violence, isolation and death. The complete story however was released after the individual clips.

Airbnb ‘Pressroom Live’: Concerts for a good cause
Come August 19, Airbnb will launch two indie concert Experiences in collaboration with local Korean newspaper Hankyoreh. Popular musicians Lee Hee-Moon Band and Harim will hold a ‘Pressroom Live’ concert in Hankyoreh’s newsroom on August 30 and September 3 respectively. Lead vocalist Lee was previously from popular Korean folk-rock band SsingSsing, while Harim is a renowned local songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Each concert is open to eight guests only and can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis on Airbnb.

Chingu Music & Drama (MUMA) Festival has spread the best K-entertainment in 2017 by sending the chingus to 2017 MAMA, 2017 KBS Drama Awards and 2017 KBS Song Festival. To mark the end of this celebration, Chingu holds the final contest which will be sending 1 winner to a mystery K-pop concert held at the end of December in Seoul.
