“From the very beginning, I was you. I was always a part of you,” the monster within Hyun-su (Song Kang) eerily declares in the tension-filled trailer for Sweet Home: Season 3, leaving audiences wondering which version of Hyun-su will prevail, and to what end. 

In the third and final season of the iconic Korean monsterisation saga, humans, monsters, and neohumans prepare for the ultimate showdown. The main poster captures the clash between Hyun-su and Sang-wook (Lee Jin-uk) amid a wrecked stadium engulfed in flames. Once allies, their paths diverged in the second season and now lead to a final face-off. 

The trailer shows a glimpse of intense action between Hyun-su and Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun) immediately after they are reunited. Yi-kyung (Lee Si-young) opens her eyes again after being consumed by a monster, while Eun-yu (Ko Min-si) and Chan-young (Jinyoung) desperately fight for survival. Meanwhile, Tak In-hwan (Yoo Oh-seong), Dr. Lim (Oh Jung-se), Kim Yeong-hu (Kim Moo-yeol), and Kid (Kim Sia) continue their individual journeys, each facing new battles. 

Director Lee Eung-bok says, “There is a variety of characters, so I hope viewers will root for their favorite ones as they all fight in their own ways, from the battle between Sang-wook — who has turned evil — and Hyun-su, who longs to preserve his humanity; Yi-kyung, who fights to protect Kid; and Sergeant Tak, who feels responsible for the survivors’ safety.”

The poster, featuring Hyun-su (played by the charismatic Song Kang) reaching up with his monstrous wing, sets the tone for the gripping teaser trailer. This imagery sets a foreboding tone for what lies ahead in the final battle for survival.

Opening with a call for cooperation among stadium survivors, Sang-wook (Lee Jin-uk) and his followers make a shocking announcement — survivors showing symptoms will face no restrictions and will be granted clemency. This throws the non-symptomatic survivors into chaos and confusion, as their refuge is no longer secure. 

Meanwhile, Eun-yu (Ko Min-si) and Chan-yeong (Jinyoung) continue their fight in a monster-infested world, heightening curiosity about everyone’s fate. Scenes depict people being sucked into ominous cocoons, teasing the rise of neohumans, a new species that could alter the course of the saga.

Netflix is gearing up for a monstrous summer showdown as Sweet Home returns for its third and final season on July 19, bringing the epic tale of survival and evolution to a thrilling conclusion.

Since its debut, the apocalyptic horror series has captivated audiences worldwide.  Season 1 introduced viewers to a chilling world overrun by grotesque K-creatures, marking a historic moment as the first Korean series to crack the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list.  Season 2 continued the journey by expanding the universe and exploring deeper themes.

In Season 3, the line between monster and human blurs with each passing moment and humanity grapples with the emergency of neo humans in a world on the brink of annihilation, marking the climax of the monsterisation saga. The poster features Hyun-su (Song Kang) amidst a city in ruins, his extended monster wing hinting at internal turmoil as he was last taken over by a monster at the end of Season 2. Mysterious cocoons hang overhead, suggesting a new era on the horizon.

 The new season promises to bring a fitting close to the epic series and to complete the stories of each character, including:
