A memorable night of iKON x SAMSUNG in Singapore

In celebration of Samsung Galaxy’s tenth anniversary, worldwide renown iKON has once again hit Singapore’s sunny shores last Thursday evening (21st February) for Samsung Galaxy’s “Unleash Next Gen Bold” event hosted at Resorts World Sentosa.

The South Korean boy group aggrandized the launch of Samsung’s upcoming state-of-the-art innovations, the Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10+. Their ever-supportive fans, iKONics, had turned the event into a red sea even prior to the start of the event. Before, their idols could step foot on stage, the audience was first introduced to the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10+, much enhanced from its forerunner, including upgrades like a triple-lens camera, Wireless PowerShare and more. All while the cheers of the fans were comparable to that of their solo concert in Singapore last November despite the event being private.

Fans were eager to see their idols as soon as the presentation ended, the night kicked off with their catchy hit “Love Scenario”. The grand crowd at the private event amounting to a whopping 1,500 cheered them on throughout, leaving the septet a bundle of cheery smiles.

When the crowd favorite finally came to an end, the talk section set for about 20 minutes began. Being a well-known avid gamer in the industry, member Chan-woo was smiling from ear to ear, as he spoke about the release of the Fortnite limited-edition skin and emote that features himself. In this same line of thought, for an exclusive period of time, a unique Fortnite in-game iKONIC outfit and a Chan-woo scenario emote will be made exclusively available for patrons of Galaxy S10 and S10+.

Shortly after, the members in lieu of the the contents of the event, started to have a discussion on what was their favorite feature of the new device. One of the members, Jin-hwan revealed that his preferred feature was that of the camera that could take selfies in a pretty manner as well as the triple, wide-angle lens that could be utilized well to take group photos together as 7 members. In accordance, they also showed their best selfie poses to the crowd.

They proceeded to take a group photo with the crowd as their segment was coming to an end soon. They then performed final songs “Bling Bling” and “Killing Me”, maintaining the high tension and energy throughout running to corners of the stage. As they thanked their fans, they proceeded to provide top-class fan service, offering to take selfies with fans’ phones or proceeding to high-five the fans up front.

Although it was only a one-hour event, the bittersweet parting with IKON was definitely a memorable and mesmerising night for fans of IKON, IKONics, ending with the members wishing that they have another chance to be able to visit Singapore again soon.

iKON performed 'Love Scenario' & 'Killing Me' at the "Unleash Next Gen Bold" Event

To celebrate 10 years of Galaxy and the launch of its latest product innovation, the Galaxy S10 and S10+ in Singapore, Samsung held the Unleash Next Gen Bold event at Resorts World Theatre yesterday evening (21 February 2019). The exclusive event saw the unveiling of the latest member of the Galaxy S series together with a performance by K-pop sensation iKON.

At the Unleash Next Gen Bold event, over 1,500 Samsung and iKON fans had a chance to experience the revolutionary features of the Galaxy S10 and S10+ at various product zones. They got to watch a live performance by iKON, where fans also had the opportunity to take group selfies together with iKON using the Galaxy S10’s Ultra Wide Lens.

iKON fans got to see a side of their idols they have never seen before, while a number of lucky fans took home special momentos and iKON merchandise. Over a month ago, Samsung kicked off its social media contest which invited all Samsung Galaxy smartphone users to snap their most creative mirror selfie for a chance to win a 4-days 3-nights all-expense paid trip to South Korea. The three winners were announced during the contest’s grand finale, Mirror Mirror Me night, where Noor Liyana Asha Binti Mohd Noor, Laven Lim Jia Hui and Noor Ashyla Binti Mohd Jalil won the chance to be a part of South Korea’s number one reality TV show ‘Get it Beauty’, as well as personally meet South Korean celebrity Jung Hae-in.

Noor Liyana Asha Binti Mohd Noor, 25, an event planner from Perlis was surprised with her winning as it was totally out of her expectation. “The picture I uploaded onto Instagram for this contest was actually a picture I happened to snap at another event. I never expected to be a winner, and yet I’ve been given this crazy opportunity. I’m so excited to go to Korea and learn what I can, as I too am a makeup enthusiast,” she said.

“No words can describe my joy and excitement when I found out I was one of the three winners,” said Laven Lim Jia Hui, a 24-year-old fashion designer who resides in Kuala Lumpur. “Discovering that I was one of the 50 shortlisted participants was already good enough, as tonight’s event was so nicely planned. The activities, such as soap-making and nail art, were a lot of fun; and now I have this chance to go to Korea, thanks to Samsung.”

For Noor Ashyla Binti Mohd Jalil, a 28-year-old pharmacist from Johor, tears almost broke out when her name was called as the last winner. “I was so happy, I almost cried. Not many people would get an opportunity like this, which I am extremely thankful for. I found out about this Mirror Mirror Me selfie contest through Instagram and decided to put up a picture of my own. To be able to go to Korea to learn about makeup, as well as meet Jung Hae-in, it’s like a 2-in-1 dream come true for me, since I’m a big fan of his too!” she said.

Samsung’s ‘Mirror Mirror Me Night” was held at Nathalie Gourmet L’espace, which was attended by 50 participants. Although not all were able to win a trip to South Korea, they were graced by the attendance of Kim KiSoo; a South Korean comedian turned celebrity makeup artist; who taught the crowd his ingenious techniques of makeup.

His makeup demonstration was followed by a live performance by Han Hee-jun, a finalist of the US talent show American Idol Season 11, K-Pop Star Season 3, and the new co-host for After School Club!

A number of surprises over the weekend have grabbed the attention of the K-POP fans as we announced the special appearance of AOA and BTOB's Sungjae to a private event and lucky fans were given a chance to meet the idols up close. Many fans started to pick up the pieces and trying hard to guess "What Are They Coming For?" (ps: we bet you know the answer now ><)

Samsung Electronics hosted A Galaxy Event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 11 October to unveil the Galaxy A9, a smartphone built for those who love to explore, capture the moment and share it as they see it. The pioneering Galaxy A9 debuts the world’s first rear quad camera and is packed with features designed to help you live each day to the fullest.

Galaxy A9 was the centre of attention during the day but the surprise star-studded performance by AOA, BTOB's Yook Sung Jae, Joe Flizzow and DJ Soda also shined a spotlight during the global launch. Sungjae first greeted Samsung members and fans at the pre-session of the event, sharing his love towards the newly launched Galaxy A's camera features.

AOA, however, charmed the audiences with their live performance, "Bingle Bangle" at A Galaxy Event. Followed by the hit performances - "Heart Attack", "Like A Cat" and "Mini Skirt" were also played during the after party. DJ Soda continued the hype by playing her famous club hits which made the crowd went frenzy.

The exclusive event saw the unveiling of the latest member of the Galaxy Note series together with a meet-and-greet with fan-favourite Hallyu artistes, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” lead actress Park Min Young and “Running Man” Sparta Kim Jong Kook. “Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim” and “Running Man” are currently among the top shows available on Viu.
