Top 3 Reasons to watch tvN Asia's My Dream Trip features BTOB's Peniel & Hyunsik
Thursday, July 04, 2019
tvN Asia’s latest original production, My Dream Trip, will
premiere on tvN and Viu in Asia and the Middle East* on 6 July 2019 (Saturday) at 20:30
(GMT+8). The show features a trip to Hong Kong by Korean boy group BTOB members Peniel
Shin and Im Hyunsik, along with two lucky travel buddies recruited earlier online.
Reason 1: Mission-packed "Dream" Trip
Reason 2: Genuine Interaction between K-pop Stars and Fans
Reason 3: Idol Baggage off, “The Dream Baggage” Awaits
The baggage of being a K-pop idol is real, but another sort of literal baggage awaits Peniel and Hyunsik in My Dream Trip. A tiny yellow suitcase, a.k.a. “The Dream Baggage”, follows them throughout the show, doubling as a menu of travel necessities. To survive the dream trip, the four have to pay for basic needs, such as cutlery, drinking water and even changing. Look out for the hidden charges!
The K-pop duo arrived in Hong Kong, Asia’s world city, with one goal in mind – to create a
dream-come-true journey with their travel buddies, Charmaine Theng, from Singapore, and
Wan-yi Chu, from Hong Kong. Together, the idols and their travel buddies create
unforgettable memories, framed at some of the latest hotspots in Hong Kong, snapping shots
of artsy streets and absorbing the city’s unique heritage and spectacular views of Victoria
Harbour. The production crew revealed the top three reasons to watch My Dream Trip before
the premiere.
Reason 1: Mission-packed "Dream" Trip
Unlike the extravaganza expected in K-dramas, the four travellers in My Dream Trip face
challenging missions. While enjoying exploring the art, culture and nature of Hong Kong, they
have to tackle different missions at iconic landmarks in Hong Kong to make money for a more
comfortable trip. In the first episode, the four even “join hands” for a mini performance,
trying to win a discount for a delectable dinner. Stay tuned to see what kind of talent show
they put on.
Reason 2: Genuine Interaction between K-pop Stars and Fans
My Dream Trip shows the real Peniel and Hyunsik, unedited. From calling the production
crew scammers to becoming a scammer himself, Peniel is never shy about saying anything as
he is true to himself, while Hyunsik shows off his charm by serenading his travel buddy with a
BTOB song and even speaking Mandarin here and there. The programme showcases
unscripted interactions between the K-pop stars and their travel buddies, which is a chance-
of-a-lifetime experience for every Melody (fandom name of BTOB) out there.
In the first episode of My Dream Trip, Peniel, Hyunsik and their travel buddies visit the Hong
Kong Observation Wheel, where they admire the dazzling night views of Hong Kong's original
raison d'être, Victoria Harbour, and start their dive into hilarious missions. Don’t miss this
side-splitting segment with the idols!
