Dalgona coffee is trending in social media with millions of people trying to make this whipped coffee at home. What if you're not a coffee person like us? Try to make the coffee-free Milo Dalgona instead.
Before we start, let us give you a brief explanation of what Dalgona is. Dalgona (달고나) also known as ppopgi (뽑기), it's a Korean traditional candy that made with melted sugar and baking soda. If you visit Myeongdong or Dongdaemun in Seoul, you will see this popular street snack (try to spot Dalgona stall when you visit Korea next time). Now, you know what Dalgona is so let's begin!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of milk (low fat, powdered milk, almond, soy)
- 1 sachet of Milo
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of All Purpose Cream
1. Add 2 tablespoons of All Purpose Cream and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar into a mixing bowl.
2. Mix it with a whisk or with a hand-mixer for about 4 minutes.
3. Add 1 sachet of Milo powder and whisk again until it reaches a smooth and thick texture (or a whipped cream-like consistency).
4. Fill 2/3rd of a cup with cold milk and add some ice.
5. Spoon the whipped milo and add it to the top of the cup. Then sprinkle the top with some milo powder. Mix it well and enjoy the drink!
