MONSTA X Promises to Return with Wonho for next concert in Malaysia!
Tuesday, June 25, 2019
Currently on its We Are Here world tour, MONSTA X stopped by Kuala Lumpur and pull off a blockbuster show last Saturday (22 June) at Stadium Malawati. Although Wonho unable to join the show as he lost his passport when landed Malaysia but the members filled up the space and energized us with their explosive and visually stunning live performances.
Dressed in regal black suits, MONSTA X made their grand entrance with 'Shoot Out', followed by 'Hero' and 'Tresspass'. The boys turned into charismatic beasts and got fans dancing and chanting for them. During the opening break, each member took turns to greet the fans and Joohoney gave Monbebes lots of laughter as he associated himself with the iconic "baksu" phrase (meaning clap) which there was a scene of him giving some opinions to the trainee during the vocal training lesson on survival program, Produce X 101. After the greetings, leader Shownu then apologized to the crowd on Wonho issue and assured fans that they would give a great show regardless.
Joohoney baksu greetings 😂😂😂 Are you ready to 박수? 😂😂#MONSTAXinKL #MonstaXWeAreHereinKL pic.twitter.com/C2MtIySgtg— gokpop (@goKPOP) June 22, 2019
MONSTA X then moved to the centre stage and performed the chill R&B track 'Party Time' and the deep house trend 'Play It Cool'. Riding on the chilling vibes, the members then moved on to perform 'Mohae' and 'Jealousy'. After the hits, the members separated into different sub-units and showcased their talents in each stage. Starting from Kihyun, Hyungwon and Minhyuk, they dressed in dandy black suits and showed off their powerful choreography of 'Myself'.
The group's rappers Joohoney and I.M, however, impressed the crowd with the upbeat '3HYTHM', during which Joohoney also showed off his drumming skills. Joohoney explained he wanted to incorporate Monbebe in their concept so the number "3" was actually represented him, I.M and the fans. Shownu and Wonho's unit stage was not presented but to not disappoint the fans, Shownu showed a little preview of his version of 'Mirror'. Following his solo stage, Shownu expressed his wish to return to Malaysia together with Wonho next time to show a complete duo dance performance. The rappers time to shine 🔥 We go 삼박자! Joohoney + I.M 🔥🔥 Say what? #MONSTAXinKL #MonstaXWeAreHereinKL pic.twitter.com/a0Xz7WONAF
While other members were backstage to change their outfits, the 'ETC' line - Kihyun, Hyungwon and Minhyuk were on stage to explain how the sub-units were formed. Kihyun said Shownu naturally paired up with Wonho and Jooheon with I.M which left 3 of them with each other. Hence, they named themselves as ETC, the Et Cetera.
Clad in white, all the members back on stage and performed the heartfelt tracks 'Honestly', 'I Do Love You', 'Sweetheart' and 'No Reason'. Fans went frenzy when the members came to the centre stage to perform. After the VCR, the stadium changed to a more upbeat atmosphere when 'Myself' and 'Dramarama' were played. The members then asked the fans to stand up and dance along with 'Oh My!', 'Special' and 'Fallin'. Following the performances, I.M then announced one song left to perform and the lights went off after they performed 'Alligator'.

With fans expecting and shouting for an encore, Hyungwon | DJ H.ONE back on stage and turned the stadium to the EDM vibe. Although in between some technical issues occurred but this did not dim Monbebes' energy as Joohoney hyped up the crowd at the backstage while the staff was fixing the issue. (ps: thumbs-up for Joohoney) In support of DJ H.ONE, all the members came out and danced along to the EDM, which also got fans on their feet to the upbeat EDM.
Seriously, #Hyungwon’s break dance was off the roof!! 😭😭😭😂😂😭😭😭 We can’t stop laughing!! #MONSTAinKL #WeAreHereInKL pic.twitter.com/aIEeBPVeSt— gokpop (@goKPOP) June 22, 2019
During the encore stage, we can see Shownu's happy faces as Monbebe held the fan banners to wish him a Happy Birthday. (ps: Shownu's birthday is on 18 June) The leader thanked the fans for the great memories and celebrated his birthday together.
Before bidding farewell, I.M said "Thank you for inviting us to this beautiful country. Hope next time we'll come back as 7 members and show you a complete MONSTA X performance." Kihyun, however, apologised to the fans for wasting their time, money and passion because of the mistake which had fans strongly denying it. Joohoney then making sure the fans not to cry and said the missing spot was instead replaced by the endless support of Monbebes. After 2 hours drenched in sweet singing and dancing. the members made a wonderful close with 'Rodeo' and 'By My Side'.

After the concert, we know why MONSTA X win million hearts since debut. They have steady live vocals paired with the powerful choreography and we can feel how much Monbebes are mean to the group as they took every opportunity to show their affection to the fans. Also, not forgot to mention the way they handle issues on stage professionally. MONSTA X definitely gave us a memorable live show during that day. If you missed out this concert, fret not, as the group has promised to return to Malaysia with all 7-members.

Day 2 of HallyuPopFest 2019 encapsulates in one night with Super Junior, Monsta X and more
Sunday, June 02, 2019
HallyuPopFest Day 2 started with a blast to a showcase by Trei, Kanto and VERIVERY.
A newly debuted group, Trei, a 3 members group opened the showcase with a performance to their debut song 'Deep'. Right away, we had Kanto in the house putting out an array of stunning performances, living up to his name as a rapper. Afterwards, we had a newly debuted group, VERIVERY, under JellyFish Entertainment. The group treated fans to an array of energy-filled performances.
Before the concert, groups dressed fashionably walked down the red carpet in style. Kanto mentioned that he will be having acts throughout the year and wishes to collaborate with NU'EST's Baekho and ACE's Chan&Jun if a chance arises. The rapper-composer has collaborated with many popular artists such as Kim Sung Gyu and Woozi producing hit songs. We are looking forward to the collaboration!
Pentagon's red carpet moments had Wooseok being exposed as the member who isn't the same on-stage and off. The members explained that Wooseok has a cheerful and humorous personality compared to his serious character portrayed.
The concert kicked off with (G)I-DLE performing to Senorita. The 6 multinational girl-group showed their captivating Latina dance grooves to songs like Blow Your Mind, Give Me Your and LATATA. The members expressed their thankfulness to be part of the biggest K-Pop Festival in Singapore. Being the first act, they were exceptionally stunning.
KARD took the second act of the night with an addictive line-up of songs. The mixed gender 4-member group took on the stage with Don't Recall, You In Me and rounding it up with Bomb Bomb. Their remarkable performances had fans dancing along with Jiwoo saying "This is our second time back in Singapore after our KARD show in 2018, being part of this K-Pop Festival is truly an amazing moment."
Right next, we had Pentagon in the stadium. The cheerful group performed with such enjoyment and confidence to Sha La La and Critical Beauty. Hongseok expressed how much he misses Singapore due to the fact that he studied at HwaChong International School. Pentagon also performed to their addictive instrumental song, Shine. Were you there to dance along with them? The group is set to returned to Singapore for their first concert on 2nd November 2019.
Monsta X was the second last act of the show, their appearance screams excitement from the fans. With Jealousy being the first song, there was an overwhelming response. Right from the start, fans' eyes were treated to a feast. Wonho wore a translucent innerwear exposing his chiseled body, he even removed his outerwear later on. The members too made sure they interacted with as many as they could. Monsta X also treated fans to Play It Cool, DRAMARAMA and Alligator.
Super Junior took on the headliner for Day 2 HallyuPopFest. The legends have returned after their last Super Show 7 in Singapore.
When the screen flashed "Super Junior", the stadium was lighted up in Sapphire Blue, the color of their fandom. Watch it here:
Without further ado, the group made their appearance with Sorry Sorry. The song which made a major breakout into foreign countries, the MV has a total count of over 106 Million views as of today. The members ran up and down the stage, every corner of the stage, just for fans to take a closer look at them. How thoughtful of the guys! They also treated fans to a remix version of Bonamana, One More Chance, Ryeowook's Drunk in the morning and Yesung's It has to be you. Rounding up the show with a nostalgic song - Miracle. The members hinted a new album tentatively releasing later part of 2019 and may even return to Singapore for Super Show.
