Netflix’s Squid Game: Season 2 amps up anticipation with the release of character key art and a “Meet the Cast” featurette, unveiling the characters’ back numbers.
1. Gi Hun - Player 456 (starring Lee Jung-Jae)
Three years ago, after winning a game and on his way to meet his daughter in the United States, he hears the voice of the "Frontman" and turns back for revenge. He returns as Player 456 to participate in the game once more, determined to uncover those hiding behind it and put an end to the deadly game once and for all.
2. Myung-gi - Player 333 (starring Im Si-wan)
A former cryptocurrency influencer who, after losing a hefty sum of cash and incurring huge losses for himself and his subscribers, becomes a fugitive until his involvement in the game.
3. Dae-ho - Player 388 (starring Kang Ha-neul)
A boisterous and outgoing individual who proudly claims to be a former marine, he exudes confidence. After hearing Gi-hun’s account of his previous experience in the game, he decides to look up to him as a mentor.
4. Gyeong-seok - Player 246 (starring Lee Jin-uk)
An artist who draws portraits at an amusement park. He has a daughter with cancer whose medication is not covered by insurance and he participates in the game to pay for her treatment.
5. Yong-sik - Player 007 (starring Yang Dong-geun)
A compulsive gambler neck-deep in debt who finds his own mother is a participant in the game.
6. Geum-ja - Player 149 (starring Kang Ae-sim)
A headstrong woman with a strong drive to provide for her family. She joins the game with the intention of paying off her son’s debts — only to find that he’s joined the game, as well.
7. Jung-bae - Player 390 (starring Lee Seo-hwan)
A long-time friend and former coworker of Gi-hun’s who was last seen gambling alongside Gi-hun at the horse race track (in Season 1).
8. Jun-hee - Player 222 (starring Jo Yu-ri)
A strong-willed woman who participates in the game due to bad investments made at the advice of an influencer.
