Yesung says “Its Complicated”, but still warms Singaporean fans’ hearts with the simplest actions
Sunday, March 02, 2025A solo concert for the first time in Singapore? It’s not a problem for Super Junior’s main vocalist Yesung, who proved that he could hold his own during 2025 YESUNG CONCERT [It’s Complicated], at The Theatre at Mediacorp. In their pink dress code, fans were ready to end the month with their favourite singer on 28 February 2025, along with their sapphire blue light sticks.
Known for their variety sense, the Super Junior member naturally inserted touches of humour as he spoke:
“Is there anyone seeing me for the first time?”
*A few fans raise their hands*
“It’s a relief that there’s not many.”
“Today it feels like I’m here for a date. Don’t you think you can introduce me to your friend, and meet me for a first date? I’m not bad, right?”
“I think your answer is not that confident… but okay. I’ll try to flirt and make you guys fall in love with me tonight. Let’s see whether you’ll fall in love with me!”
The songbird then effortlessly did so by singing ‘Scented Things’ & ‘A Letter in The Wind ’.
Following a VCR and a change of outfit, Yesung re-appeared in a green outerwear and jeans, exuding a laidback, youthful vibe. He then delights E.L.F. with ‘Like Us’, and performed a medley – ‘Beautiful Night’, ‘Eat’s OK’ & ‘Pink Magic’. Being the seasoned entertainer that he is, not only he threw snack packs to lucky fans, he even walked into the audience area to interact with them!
Yesung then delivered his second ment after hyping up the crowd, “Usually everyone stands up during ‘Pink Magic’… is there a regulation you guys can’t?”
“Today, I failed to throw to the second floor. Can you guys see me well?” the singer showed his consideration to fans sitting in the back.
“When do you feel the most energetic? When you go home from work or school, compared to when you go for it right? No wonder you all kept sitting down,” Yesung joked.
He then continued to deliver his soulful vocals by singing a remake of 'Yours eternally' (original title 'Unbreakable Love' by Eric Chou), followed by his highly-successful OST track 'It Has to Be You'.
Added to his set were ‘My Dear’, ‘4 Seasons’, ‘There She Goes Again’ ‘Curtain’, and ‘Floral Sense’.
“You guys sang ‘It Has to Be You’ really well. I’m touched at your flashlight event!” the singer marveled at Cloud’s efforts for him.
When Yesung performed ‘Parallel Lines’ after, he stated that he doesn’t sing this song often, but decided to add it to his setlist as he heard it’s a fan favourite.
As the evening drew to a close, he remembers to express gratitude to his audience who came to support his first solo concert in Singapore:
“When I was walking around, I saw you guys really well. Thank you for my first concert in Singapore. Since there’re many of you who saw me for the first time, I think our date went well. I’ll continue to be passionate. I hope you guys will continue to cheer for me.”
“Next year is my 10th anniversary and solo. Since we like each other, let’s meet more often!”
The artiste then wrapped up the concert with ‘Slide Away’.
That Friday night, Yesung winded down a hustling week for fans, while combining talent and humour into two hours. Complete with a live band, the soloist displayed versatility and his non-idol side with various genres like rock, ballads and R&B. We’re sure both Cloud and E.L.F are already eagerly anticipating Super Junior’s next visit to Singapore!
We’d like to thank CK Star Entertainment for the invite.
