Lee Young Ji Takes Singapore by Storm at ALL OR NOTHING World Tour
Tuesday, October 22, 2024Capitol Theatre was the place to be as Lee Young Ji, one of the hottest names in Korean hip-hop, brought her highly anticipated <ALL OR NOTHING> world tour to Singapore. The energy was sky-high as fans packed the venue for Young Ji’s first show in Singapore since her 2023 Asia tour, and she did not disappoint.
Kicking off the night with an explosive performance of “16,” Young Ji immediately had the crowd buzzing, transitioning seamlessly into the fiery “I’m Lee Young Ji.” It was the perfect start to what would be a dynamic and memorable evening.
During her first break, Young Ji showed her down-to-earth side, laughing about her stage outfit—a tight top and hot pants, far from her usual training suits. “I dressed up for Singapore today, and I hope you like it!” she told the crowd, who cheered her on enthusiastically.
Young Ji then promised to perform all the songs from her latest album, 16 Fantasy, an album she poured her heart into. In a cute and unexpected moment, she revealed she’s a cat person—despite not actually owning a cat—and wrote the song “My Cat” for her imaginary feline friends. Fans couldn’t get enough of her playful side.
One of the night’s biggest highlights was her performance of “Small Girl,” which she jokingly called her most popular song. “If you don’t know this song, why are you even here?” she teased, before launching into the fan-favorite track. Her honesty continued with “ADHD,” a song she explained was inspired by a phrase she’s heard all her life.
The emotional heart of the show came when Young Ji performed “Unknown Guy,” a song she wrote about her father, who left when she was young. She shared a touching message about resilience and moving on, and as fans chanted “gwenchana” (it’s okay), she humorously replied, “I don’t want gwenchana, I don't need it! I want ‘saranghae’ (I love you) instead!” The audience responded with love, embracing her strength.
After showing off her vocal chops on “Tell Me,” Young Ji’s dance team took the stage for a brief interlude before she returned in a playful blue top and white skirt, for a cute performance of “Freesia.” She also performed “Day & Night” and “Anemone,” even asking the crowd for eye drops to help her “fake” tears while telling us the story about making the emotional track Anemone.
In a special treat for her Singapore fans, Young Ji performed “YAY” by LAYONE live for the first time, running into the crowd and getting up close with the audience, who were clearly loving every moment.
The energy hit its peak when Young Ji returned in a white tank top and blue baggy jeans, ready to deliver her iconic competition tracks from Show Me the Money and High School Rapper. The crowd went wild for “That’s My Girl,” “DNA Remix,” “We,” “Witch,” and “Deja Vu,” with the atmosphere so intense it felt like a mini WATERBOMB festival as Young Ji playfully poured water over the fans—and herself.
Before performing “Not Sorry,” she made it clear: “We don’t have to feel sorry all the time. Sometimes, we just have to say ‘fuck it’, ‘whatever’ and move on.” In an interactive moment, she invited five fans on stage to perform PH-1’s part, and each one held their own despite the language barrier. In a sweet gesture, Young Ji had the fans vote on their favorite performance and promised all five signed albums as a reward.
The night took a softer turn as Young Ji closed the main set with “Hug,” a heartfelt track that left the crowd emotional. But the fans weren’t ready to say goodbye, chanting for an encore.
Young Ji returned with a double encore, performing “Fighting” by BSS and the viral hit “Smoke” from Street Woman Fighter, making the crowd longing for the reunion they’d been craving. For her second encore, she treated fans to “Go High,” her High School Rapper finale song, which she hadn’t performed in a while.
In a perfect end to the night, Young Ji had the audience sing along to “Small Girl,” a moment so memorable it was later posted on her company’s Instagram. But even after that, the fans—whom she affectionately called “aggressive”—wanted more. She closed with one last encore of “I’m Lee Young Ji,” promising to return to Singapore next year.
The night was a masterclass in energy, emotion, and connection. Huge thanks to Live Nation Singapore for inviting us to witness such an unforgettable performance.
