Fans' Wishes Come True: D.O’s BLOOM Concert in Malaysia Delivers Music, Love, and Laughter

On August 18th, 2024, Axiata Arena transformed into a pastel dream as Doh Kyung Soo (D.O) returned to Malaysia for his long-awaited solo Asia Fan Concert, "BLOOM." After six years since his last visit to Malaysia, this time he returned not as a group but as a solo artist, marking his first-ever solo fan concert. Fans flooded the stadium dressed in daisy blue outfits, creating a stunning visual of soft colors that perfectly complemented the evening's intimate atmosphere.


As the night kicked off, D.O opened with "Marc," a captivating track from his newly released third mini-album, BLOSSOM. During the Q&A segment, D.O revealed that he will be starring in an upcoming drama titled Sculptured City, where he will be taking on the role of a villain for the first time. This unexpected twist in his acting career had fans buzzing with anticipation, especially as D.O cheekily added that they should look forward to seeing this new side of him. When asked about his next album, he teased the crowd with a playful, "secret," sparking even more excitement for what’s to come.
D.O also shared some fun insights into his food adventures in Malaysia. He revealed that he had tried several local dishes, including nasi lemak, roti tissue, laksa, apam balik, and more. Among these, roti tissue stood out as his favorite, and he expressed a lot of affection for the unique dish. D.O also noted that the sambal in nasi lemak reminded him of Korean ssamjang sauce, which made him feel a bit at home while enjoying the meal. As for apam balik, he found it similar to Korean hotteok, humorously suggesting that if hotteok had corn added to it, it would taste just like apam balik.
One particularly funny moment he shared was his initial confusion over teh tarik, mistaking it for a sauce before realizing it was a drink. Despite the mix-up, D.O ended up enjoying it thoroughly, leaving the audience in laughter at his charming food-related anecdotes.
Next up was the "To Do List" segment, where D.O granted fans' wishes, written on sticky notes, live on stage. The interaction brought joyful and heartwarming moments, and he even performed a few EXO classics like "Overdose" and "First Snow," leading the audience in a nostalgic sing-along that left everyone with a smile on their face. 
A particularly sweet moment occurred when D.O invited fans on the floor to form heart shapes with him. Fans who were chosen participated in creating different heart signs, leading to endearing and funny moments that had the entire arena laughing and cheering.

Following a playful and engaging Q&A session, the concert took a more emotional turn as D.O performed a medley of fan-favorite songs. Tracks like "Simple Joys", "That's Okay," "I Do," and "My Dear" showcased his soothing vocals, while songs like "Ordinary Days," "Good Night," "About Time," and "Somebody" deepened the emotional connection between the artist and his fans. 
D.O's sense of humor shone during the ments, where he lightheartedly acknowledged the ballad-heavy setlist, joking that there wouldn’t be much dancing tonight. However, he promised that next time, he would bring more upbeat tracks to get the crowd moving, making fans eagerly anticipate his next visit.
As the concert drew to a close, D.O surprised fans with an encore performance of "Popcorn," bringing the energy up one last time. The most touching moment of the night came when fans united to sing "My Love" with D.O, creating a heartwarming and unforgettable atmosphere. The fan-prepared video tribute at the end of the night left D.O visibly moved, wrapping up the evening with a shared sense of love and appreciation between him and his fans.


D.O’s solo concert "BLOOM" in Malaysia was more than just a performance—it was a testament to his versatility as both a singer and an actor, and a reminder of the deep bond he shares with his fans. Whether it's his delicate ballads or his evolving acting roles, one thing is clear: D.O continues to capture hearts worldwide, and his journey is far from over. We are eagerly waiting to see what the multi-talented star will do next.
