The High Skool (EPIK HIGH's fans) faithful packed the HGH Convention Centre on Friday night, 2nd of August 2024, for a highly anticipated return of the iconic Korean hip-hop trio, EPIK HIGH. It's been nearly two years since their last visit in December 2022 for the "Epik High Is Here Tour," and the excitement was palpable.

Before the show even started, fans were met with a surprising announcement: EPIK HIGH's official lightstick, Park Kyu Bong, was banned by PUSPAL due to its provocative symbol. Despite this, the energy and enthusiasm of the High Skool never waned. Their voices filled the air, proving that no lightstick could dim their passion.

EPIK HIGH kickstarted the night with a burst of new tracks from their latest album, "PUMP." The set opened with "PRETTY MUCH (INTRO)," followed by electrifying performances of "ANTIHERO". They also performed some of their latest tracks like "LATE CHECKOUT," "K-DRAMA," and "GROUP CHAT FREESTYLE."

The trio’s playful personalities shone through during their greetings. DJ Tukutz remixed his introduction to the tune of "Baby Shark," Tablo opted for a dramatic flair, and Mithra Jin went retro with a "YMCA" remix. Their quirky intros had the audience in stitches and set a lighthearted tone for the evening.

A standout moment came during "NO THANXX," where Tablo playfully let the crowd handle the explicit lyrics, feigning shock at their unfiltered enthusiasm. Throughout the concert, both Tablo and Mithra Jin made their way into the crowd, creating intimate moments during performances of "ROSARIO," "SCREENTIME," and "RAIN SONG."

One of the night's highlights was Tablo's impromptu interaction with a fan's phone. Noticing numerous text messages from “Daryl, Darren, or Dad,” he humorously advised the fan to check their messages, even posting the amusing exchange on his Instagram. This spontaneous interaction showcased the unique bond between EPIK HIGH and their fans.

Before diving into "SCREEN TIME," Tablo spoke highly of SEVENTEEN's HOSHI, whose vocals feature on the track. He praised HOSHI's looks and asked the fans to help sing his part. The fans didn't disappoint, effortlessly following along. However, during the second part of the chorus, EPIK HIGH intentionally cut the song short while the fans were still singing. Tablo laughed at the fans for continuing, then quickly transitioned into "RAIN SONG," adding a touch of their signature goofiness to the performance.

In a reflective moment, Tablo shared the inspiration behind their music, candidly admitting that their song "GROUP CHAT FREESTYLE" was penned for those obsessed with the band. He then launched into the raw lyrics, capturing the essence of their unfiltered artistic spirit.

EPIK HIGH also treated the crowd to nostalgic renditions of their classic hits, including "EYES NOSE LIPS", "LOVE LOVE LOVE," "ONE," and "FAN." Each song was a journey back in time, evoking cherished memories.

As the night drew to a close, the sentiment among the fans was unanimous: EPIK HIGH’s return was worth the wait, and they can't wait for the next chapter.
