The group debuted in 2009 under the name BEAST and rose steadily to prominence thanks to their unique sound, self-producing talents, and captivating performances. In 2017, members Yoon Dujun, Yang Yoseop, Lee Gikwang and Son Dongwoon formed their own label “Around US Entertainment” to house the group, renamed HIGHLIGHT. 

The release of the group’s second EP “Shock Of The New Era” (2010) was met with huge success. The standout track “Shock” (2010) peaked at number two on South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart (now known as the Circle Chart) and earned the group their first music show win on Mnet’s M!Countdown, skyrocketing the group’s popularity.

In May 2011, HIGHLIGHT released their first studio album “Fiction and Fact” (2011), which included the hit track “Fiction” (2011). The song was wildly successful and brought them to new heights. Till date, it has more than 37.5 million streams on Spotify, and the official music video on YouTube has more than 133 million views. The album was ranked as the fifth best-selling album of 2011 in South Korea, a feat for a group that was relatively new at the time.
