Starring Jo Jung Suk and Girls' Generation's YoonA, the action comedy movie EXIT is set to bring tears and laughter in nationwide cinema on 5 September. EXIT featuring story of an unemployed man, Yong Nam (starring Jo Jung Suk) and an assistant manager of a conventio, Eui-ju (starring YoonA). Yong-nam was one of the best rock climbers in university but has failed to get a decent job after graduated several years ago. When a disaster strikes, covering an entire district in Seoul with mysterious white gas, he has to use all of his rock climbing skills with the help of Eui-ju to get everyone to safety..

Few months before the filming began, Jo Jung Suk and YoonA took rock climbing lessons and have learned all the proper skills to climb. Jo Jung Suk said, “After training at indoor rock climbing centers, I went to the sound stage and the buildings were 10-15m tall. If this was a real disaster, the actual buildings would’ve been 10 times higher, so that puts things into scale." 

YoonA, however said “Before the filming began, I kept my body in shape because I was required to run, climb and wire stunts, and I wanted to keep up.”

The filmmakers and cast of EXIT are collectively calling EXIT “a new breed of disaster film that has never been seen before.” Toxic gas as a source of the disaster is an ingenious story device, and the funny-yet-sad situations the characters are put into are the reasons to see the film.

Yong-nam has his heydays back in university when he was the ace in the rock climbing club. But after failing to get a decent job after graduated from university, his morale and self esteem are way down. He dreaded to get a job before his mother's 70th birthday but was failed to do so. During the birthday celebration, he met his crush Eui-ju who's the assistant manager of the convention hall. Their lives tangled when toxic gas suddenly spread all over the city.

Eui-ju is the assistant manager of a convention hall, who has grown tired of repetitious work life and is sick of all the advances from her cowardice boss. She’s so glad to run into Yong-nam, whom she friendzoned in college. When the toxic gas begins spreading across Seoul, she has to maintain order and peace in the hall for everyone’s safety.

What if a seemingly useless skill turns into something you use to get out of a life- threatening situation, and what if an underappreciated ability is able to save the ones you love?

When toxic gas suddenly engulfs the city, two young people fight their way out of this disaster with nothing but their wit and everyday tools at their disposal! An unbelievable night in which they have to keep running to survive.
